Payment is due at the time of registration. Fees are non-refundable unless written notification of cancellation is given to VAGP by individual/individual’s agency at least five (5) business days prior to the date of the seminar.

Overview of Course: This class will explore the legal basis for public purchasing in the Commonwealth including the intent of the Virginia Public Procurement Act, authorized methods of procurement, contract formation and administration, public inspection of records and review ethics in public purchasing.

Learning Objectives:

  • You will be able to describe:
    • Some goals of public procurement
    • Roles of the Buyer, End User, and Contract Administrator
    • Why good documentation and records are essential
  • You will gain knowledge of:
    • The Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA), definition of procurement terms, and ethics
    • Methods of procurement
    • Contract formation and administration
