The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee promotes the individual strengths, viewpoints, and contributions of all VAGP members. It is committed to recognizing diversity as a core strength of the organization and to honor, respect, and value those differences. The Committee seeks ways to enhance participation among all VAGP members by highlighting member achievements, creating learning opportunities, and expanding access to conferences and other events.

The Legislative Committee provides VAGP members with updates of current and pending legislation effecting public purchasing in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition, the Committee seeks to develop partnerships with other organizations whose purpose is to protect and promote the exercise of responsible governmental practices.

The Professional Development Committee, or Pro-D, is charged with developing and offering low-fee professional development opportunities to the membership of VAGP. In addition, the committee offers continuing educational opportunities through the sponsorship of NIGP courses.

The Professional Development Committee is always seeking new content and instructors. If you wish to be part of the content development process, have content to share with VAGP, or would like to instruct on existing content, please reach out to a committee chair below.

In coordination with the Conference Advisory Committee, the Sponsorship Committee develops and maintains professional partnerships that support VAGP's mission. The Committee engages and collaborates with industry partners by overseeing the annual sponsorship program and coordinating vendor showcases for the Spring Conference and Fall Symposium.

The Technology Committee promotes the use of technology to increase efficiency of VAGP operations and to support our VAGP members.  

COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain content on VAGP website
• Manage VAGP's List Serve forum
• Assess technology needs and competencies for the organization
• Make recommendations concerning the acquisitions, implementation and upgrading of existing technology
• Provide customer support for membership
